Hello, I’m a New Zealander, the adds are made here and shown on billboards around the country. The glass represents being blocked out from the next day after a night of drinking, and the consequences. There are also videos in the campaign, varying from drink driving warnings to ladies walking out of clubs and being pulled down into alleys by lurking men.
The problem in NZ is that LOTS of people drink purely to get drunk, as opposed to drinking pleasurably. The goverment is trying to reiterate that drinking is alright, but done so in abuse and too often leads to consequences. Just a bit of explanation behind the adverstisements.
